The golden threadfin bream are renowned for their delicious taste, especially in regions where they are abundant.
In the past, to prevent freshly caught threadfin bream from losing their flavor, fishermen would preserve them by submerging them in sea salt-filled jars overnight. Once ashore, the fish will be ready for cooking.
Over time, this method earned threadfin bream the moniker "overnight jar."
So if you see a dish named "pan-fried overnight jar," don't worry — You're definitely not eating the jar that's used to store the fish.
