The honeycomb stingray is a massive species of stingray.
Under normal circumstances, they lie buried in sandy seafloors, waiting to ambush their prey with only their spiracles and eyes exposed.
Imagine a giant creature suddenly flipping over in the depths, engulfing a small and unsuspecting passerby, then vanishing without a trace... The honeycomb stingray might just be the inspiration for those sea monster legends.
