It's venomous, but edible once the venomous spines are removed.

What a catch! My first Royal Angelfish! It's got a spiny posterior fin.
The Royal Angelfish is a picky eater with eyes only for sea sponges.

Royal Angelfish is an Aquatic Creature in Petit Planet.

Omnipedia

Scientific Name: Pygoplites diacanthus

Although the royal angelfish is an omnivorous species, they are highly dependent on sponges.
Their health condition worsens after prolonged sponge deficiency in their diet, which is one of the main reasons why they are difficult to breed in captivity.
