That bright yellow on its tail is just impossible to ignore..
What a catch! My first Regal Tang! Its tail is bright yellow.
The regal tang uses its bright yellow tail to anchor itself to coral.
Regal Tang is an Aquatic Creature in Petit Planet.
Omnipedia
Scientific Name: Paracanthurus hepatus
The regal tang will reach its bright yellow tail into intricate coral branches and use the branches as leverage to anchor itself.
When an intruder threatens to drag it out of the coral, it will "play dead" by tilting to one side while still hooked onto the coral.
This behavior has earned it the odd nickname "hanging fish."
