Sockeye salmon only turn red when they return to the river.
Phew... What a catch! It's a rare Sockeye Salmon!
During spawning season, sockeye salmon make their grand journey from the ocean back to the rivers.
Sockeye Salmon is an Aquatic Creature in Petit Planet.
Omnipedia
Scientific Name: Oncorhynchus nerka
Sockeye salmon are born in freshwater and migrate to the ocean as they mature. Their bodies will also turn a silvery gray, better suited for life in open waters.
During spawning season, they migrate back to the rivers to spawn, and their body color will change again to a bright red.
When the "red tide" emerges in the rivers, you'll know that the sockeye have come home again.
