Whether it brings good fortune or not depends on the definition of "good fortune."

What a catch! My first Calico Koi! It brings good luck.
When calico koi return to their natural habitat, they revert to common koi after few generations.

Calico Koi is an Aquatic Creature in Petit Planet.

Omnipedia

Omni-Gallery — Coolwater Zone

Scientific Name: Cyprinus carpio

The calico koi are a variety of koi fish.
Koi can evolve into colorful variants in their natural environment even without human intervention.
However, these brightly colored koi are often easy prey to predators in the wild. Therefore, when selectively bred multicolored koi are reintroduced to the wild, they typically "revert to their true forms" after a few generations, thanks to natural selection.
