Its name is literally the "small yellow croaker," not a younger version of the large yellow croaker.
What a catch! My first Small Yellow Croaker! Not just a runt from the large yellow kind.
Small Yellow Croaker is an Aquatic Creature in Petit Planet.
Omnipedia
Scientific Name: Larimichthys polyactis
The small yellow croaker is not a juvenile of the large yellow croaker.
However, it's easy to confuse the two as being of the same species from their names and appearances.
Hence, a suggestion was made to refer to the smaller large yellow croakers, "small large yellow croakers," and the larger small yellow croakers, "large small yellow croakers."
But that just seems to complicate things even more.
