Make sure to double-check when it's lying motionless on the aquarium floor.

What a catch! My first Eel Loach! It often plays dead.

Eel Loach is an Aquatic Creature in Petit Planet.

Omnipedia

Omni-Gallery — Warmwater Zone

Scientific Name: Pangio kuhlii

Eel Loaches sift through the sand in search of sunken food scraps to fill their bellies, munching away at whatever plant and animal matter they can find without discrimination.
This handy habit is considered great for keeping aquariums clean, and so many hobbyists choose to keep them around as the "cleaning crew."
However, as hardworking as they are, eel loaches are also notorious for "playing dead".
