The mantis shrimp are fierce creatures with club-like claws that can easily shatter the armor that crustaceans are so proud of. Some have even given them the nickname "thumb splitters."
However, sometimes, a "hard" nature can be countered by a "soft" approach.
The octopus, which also dwells on the sea floor, injects a paralyzing saliva into the mantis shrimp, then feasts on it with the hidden beak inside its body.
