The heart-shaped shell of the heart cockle is actually a "greenhouse."

It can be found in the Omni-Gallery in the Shore-Dweller section.

The heart cockle's shell is an incredibly symmetrical heart shape. The special structure was designed to house symbiotic algae.
The algae provide nutrients for the heart cockle through photosynthesis, while the cockle offers a safe haven inside its body in a mutually beneficial symbiosis.
