Flat as a rock, tough as one too.

What a catch! My first Flat Rock Crab! Look at those bare "hands"!
Their smooth surface helps it scrape algae off rocks.

Flat Rock Crab is a Shore-Dweller Creature in Petit Planet.

Omni-Gallery — Intertidal Zone

Scientific Name: Percnon planissimum

The flat rock crab got its name for its flat appearance.
Some scholars believe it evolved smooth claws to better scrape algae off reefs.
As the crab matures and grows in strength, these smooth claws become deadly weapons for hunting small fish and invertebrates.
