What a catch! My first six-spot ground beetle! They are extraordinarily ferocious!

The six-spot ground beetle primarlily feeds on ants. They can mimic the ants' chemical scent and make the colony accept them as one of their own, all the while feasting freely in the nest.
Not only do they enjoy such free meals, but they're also more than happy to actively hunt down prey much larger than themselves for a "change of taste."
