What a catch! My first Blue Trim Parrotfish! It's got a "beak."
With its special beak-like mouth, the blue trim parrotfish tears through coral like potato chips.
Blue Trim Parrotfish is a Fish Creature in Petit Planet.
Omnipedia
Scientific Name: Scarus ghobban
The blue trim parrotfish has its unique beak-like mouth to thank for being able to tear through hard coral as if they were potato chips.
The ingested coral calcium generally cannot be digested and will be excreted afterward. Over time, these form beautiful "white sand beaches" on the seafloor or coastline.
