The red hind usually hides in rocky crevices or near the seafloor, ambushing its prey with surprise attacks.
However, this strategy of staying still most of the time and only striking at crucial moments has led it to develop a "wait-and-see" habit, overlooking the creeping, silent dangers around. While it waits for an octopus, another hunter might be just behind.
