Wandering Star are a currency that are earned from exploring Islets during a Starsea Voyage. Between 1 to 3 can be found per Islet.
As of the Final Beta Test, they have no other use outside of collection, although when they are picked-up, Planet Tenders will also receive either 
Sea Whistle ×1, 
Lucasprout ×10, or Lucasprout ×20.
