Silver pomfrets primarily prey on jellyfish, and during initial attempts at artificially breeding the species, feeding became the main challenge.
Later, researchers developed a method where jellyfish were first fed with feed, and then the pomfret would eat the jellyfish. This allowed the silver pomfret to get accustomed to the taste of the feed, eventually solving the problem.
