Neighbors are characters in Petit Planet.
Overview
[edit | edit source]Neighbors are separated into 2 distinct categories, being those that every Planet Tender will meet and have on their planet, and those that need to be met and invited.
Base
[edit | edit source]Although they are considered Neighbors, Mobai, Elsasani, Glenn, and then later Mors and Trixie do not need to be invited, and will instead settle during the main story of Petit Planet. They do not use up any Neighbor Capacity, and will also not count for any Daily Missions or Footprints that involve interacting with Neighbors. Likewise, they do not feature any kind of Bond system, meaning there is no way to increase their friendship level by chatting or gifting. Lastly, outside of Elsasani, given she becomes a Planet Tender's greeter upon the creation of the Station, no other "base Neighbor" can have their outfit edited, despite being the models for Neighbor Outfits at Glenn's Goods.
Invite
[edit | edit source]For the Neighbors that must be invited to settle, a series of prerequisites must be met beforehand. Firstly, a Planet Tender must encounter their specific Encounter Islet during a Starsea Voyage, with different Neighbors appearing in different Zones. These encounters are not guaranteed, and can appear randomly, even after the zone looks to have been explored to completion.
Once a Neighbor has been met for the first time, they will appear in the Starcove at Bond Lv. 1, with a basic overview of some of their loves, likes, and dislikes listed, with each Neighbor having a different set of each, based on their background and personality. Their Journey and Keepsakes can also be viewed, with the latter also being available to purchase for Footprint (Currency) at this stage.
At this point, no further progress can be made with the Neighbor, nor can they be interacted with or invited to visit/settle; Planet Tenders must encounter the Neighbor in the Starsea for a second time, although this is no longer limited to their specific Encounter Islet, as they can now be found randomly upon any Islet.
After the second encounter, the Neighbor will be at Bond Lv. 2, and can now be invited to come and visit a Planet Tender's planet. They will usually have a mini-quest that needs to be completed, after which, they will automatically jump to Bond Lv. 3, and can be asked if they want to settle and move in, provided there is ample Neighbor Capacity.
Bond
[edit | edit source]Once a Neighbor has been invited to settle on the planet, Planet Tenders can start gaining Bond with them, with higher Bond levels unlocking various activities, or Neighbor-specific features.
Bond can be gained in multiple ways:
- Chatting to the Neighbor
- Giving them a gift
- Inviting them over for dinner
- Completing their Vignette
- Completing their Basic and Wish Homi Decor requests
- Hanging out with them
- Completing any random daily interactions with them
Chatting
[edit | edit source]Chatting with a Neighbor will typically be small-talk about things that have recently happened, such as a change to the Planet, a change to a Planet Tender's outfit, or an interaction they might have witnessed with another Neighbor. Rarely, they might also offer insights into their Loves, Likes, or Dislikes, or they might mention that they've seen something for sale at Glenn's Goods that they would like to own.
Although Neighbors can be chatted to at any point, and as much as wanted, only the first chat in a 24-hour period (based on server reset) will award Bond, typically awarding 1 to 2 Bond points.
Gifting
[edit | edit source]Neighbors can be given a gift once per 24-hour period (based on server reset), with the amount of Bond awarded depending on how much they liked the item gifted:
- A Loved item will typically award 2 to 4 Bond points.
- A Liked item will typically award 1 to 2 Bond points.
- Offering them a Disliked item will cause them to refuse the gift altogether, offering the ability to gift them something more appropriate. This does not cause Bond to lower, so is safe to do so to figure out what they Dislike.
Giving a Neighbor a gift that they have no particular feelings on, will usually award 1 Bond point.
If a Neighbor has mentioned seeing something in Glenn's Goods that they would like to own during a chat, this can be gifted to themk for a 4 Bond point reward, as they will be extremely happy to receive it.
Dinner
[edit | edit source]Upon completion of Transcription missing, Neighbors can be invited back to the Planet Tender's personal house for dinner. A type of Dish can be selected, or it can be left up to the Neighbor to decide. The Dishes must then be placed inside the House, after which the Neighbor can be invited over. After eating, they will comment on the food selection offered, and can be spoken to in order to play a selection of different mini-games. The whole invite will award 1 to 2 Bond points.
Housing
[edit | edit source]The housing services allow Planet Tenders to upgrade their own House, or those of Neighbors.
In order to purchase these upgrades, Planet Tenders must reach specific House Ratings for their own abode, while for Neighbor Houses, they must own the required blueprint, which are typically given several days after a Neighbor has settled.
Planet Tender houses require certain quantities of
Dough to upgrade, while Neighbor Houses will use
Tree Sap, and then materials relating to the Neighbor or their home Galaxy.
Homi Decor
[edit | edit source]Homi Decor is a system that unlocks when Planet Tenders reach Bond Lv. 6 with a Neighbor, and it allows Planet Tenders to decorate the houses of Neighbors that have settled on their Planet.
The system is separated into 2 sections:
- Basic: Neighbor will request everyday Furniture like Kitchen Appliancess, Lighting, or various Decorations.
- Wish: Neighbor will request specific items, notably those being in their specific Furniture Set.
After the Basic set has been completed, the Wish set will become available after 5 days.
Rewards
[edit | edit source]Each set of rewards can only be claimed once per Neighbor.
