{{Omnipedia Entry
|location = Forest Zone
|sname = Allomyrina dichotoma
|text = Only male kabuto beetles grow an impressive, protruding horn.
This horn is typically used in battles against other males. Despite its heroic appearance, the horn is virtually useless in the beetle's daily life and feeding. Even with such an impressive "weapon," kabuto beetles still obtain nutrition by licking decaying fruits and tree sap like the rest of their Scarabaeidae kin.
